MISSING PERSONS
Recently updated!National missing-persons statistics · reported cases, per-capita rate & resolution rate
These are reported missing-person figures, not counts of everyone currently missing. Some sources count annual reports or incidents rather than unique people. Reporting rules, definitions and years differ, so this is not a standardized international ranking. Countries without usable published figures are omitted. Unavailable resolution rates appear as "Data not publicly available". Check the reporting year and original source before comparing countries.
How to compare countries
Click a column heading to sort by reports, reports per 100,000 residents, or resolution. Per-capita figures adjust for population, but cannot correct for differences in police reporting practices.
Each country's reporting year appears below its name. Use its Source link to check what was counted. A missing-person report is not the same as an unresolved disappearance.
